Problem with Automatic order processing for Website X5 Pro v17...  en

Thankyou for a great program.

I have setup a shopping cart for sale of digital products only using Website X5 Professional v 17 on yrly subscription.

I have followed the tutorial "How to sell ebooks and other digital products in your online store"

When purchasing a product, the confirmation email that a product has been sold is sent as tested with my "test document" (found at the bottom of page http://www.oursaviourap.org.au/other-drama-scripts.php ).  A notification is given in the X5 Manager APP that an item has been bought, but the email with the download link is not sent automatically.  This has to be done manually through the X5 Manager App.

I have made sure that the box labelled "Process the purchase automatically after having received the payment" is ticked.

No error messages pop up.

Please help.

Hello.You actually paid the order through PayPal (not Sandbox enabled (Test mode))? Was there only digital products in the cart?

If not, this could be the reason.

What is your PHP version on the hosting?

Thankyou for your replies.

1. Payment type is Paypal/credit card and the Sandbox is not ticked.

There are only digital products in the cart.

2. I will check the PHP version on the hosting and get back to you.

PHP version is 5.6.22

Email form script type - I have set to PHP mailer (recommended). I tried SMPT but that didn't send any emails.

Data submission type: is set to Send as POST

In the "Website Test" on the X5 Manager App - all the Database settings  - "PASS" when tested

Try PHP 7.1.

Check your email script settings again.Find out which one works.This script, specify in the program settings (not in the admin site).

I tried each email script setting with either "Send as POST" or "Send as GET" Most worked in terms of sending confirmation email that item had been bought. I also received the order on the X5 manager app. However I still had to manually send the digital download link by clicking on the truck icon in the x5 manager app.

In terms of the PHP - I checked the cpanel of the web server and found that the PHP version is 7.2.7, the Database client version: libmysql - 5.1.73, cpsrvd 11.76.0.21

I am not familiar enough with cpanels to understand all this.

However I am happy that I can at least forward the digital link manually via clicking on the truck icon in the X5 Manager app.

Hi Colin.

I would like to ask for further clarification of the issue.

After the user has paid for the order, does he receive the confirmation email with no attachment, or is the email not received at all?

It seems like a very weird issue, which might need further analysis to individuate precisely. What kind of file are you sending in your email exactly?

Please keep me posted with this information so that I might get a better idea of the situation

Hi Stefano

Prior to latest update X5 Pro 2019.1.4, The confirmation email was being sent, but the email with digital download link was not sent. I had to go to the X5 Manager app (android mobile) and send the digital link manually. This worked.

Since the update to X5 Pro 2019.1.4, when I purchase an item and click on the buy button, I get an error message "Generic error"

I checked my Paypal account and no money has been taken out.

Since the update, it is not working at all.

Help

I really like this program but the shopping cart is broken for me.

Hi Colin.

I've analyzed your website in order to understand the possible cause for this.

I can definitely see the Generic Error being reported. Unfortunately, the reason for this is hidden in the ERROR LOG of your server provider, and I would like to ask you to contact them directly in order to have the actual error reported to you.

Once they do that, please report that to me. It would be really helpful in order to understand what seems to be blocking your cart

Hi Colin

It seems this issue could be caused by a faulty installation of the 2019.1

In order to get this fixed, try the following:

1_ Uninstall the 2019.1

2_ Download the installer again from the "My Downloads" page here on Help Center and install it again

3_ Open your project up and launch the preview while holding down the left CTRL button

4_ Upload the website again and check if the issue is solved

Hi Stefano

Thankyou for your suggestions.  Following the update a few days ago, I changed the email from "PHP mailer" to "Standard script". I didn't have to reinstall the program.

Everything works now.

The Comment by Andrew H. "Paypal with shopping cart" also helped significantly. When I was testing the website with my dummy testing product, I forgot to hit the yellow "Buy Now" button at the end to actually purchase the testing document through paypal.

It doesn't appear to be an obvious step to do because it only comes up after the confirmation of order. The button is small - can this button be changed in the program.
