How to extend header and footer to the full length of the page?

Hi everyone.
Could someone please advise me on how to extend both the header and footer to the full length of the page for desktop view so i can add more objects?
Please advise.

Just add objects, lengt will be automaticly bigger (longer).
But if you wish to set a minimum height goto step 2 template, template structure, select page content and set minmum height.
Just for fun:
change resolution: (width)
step2 template -> resolutions and responsive design, choose viewport -> edit
