I am testing, online of course, a new response form created for the first time with the latest version of X5.
However, when I click Send, all I get is a page with the following error message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /var/www/vip13/sites/vip1946979/httpd/htdocs/llplaces/res/class.phpmailer.php on line 304

Hello Donald,
This message almost certainly means that you need to upgrade the version of PHP on your server.
WebSite X5 requires a minimum of PHP version 5.6 for many features to operate correctly:
WebSite X5 minimum server requirements
Your webhost will be able to assist you with this if you are unsure how to effect the change yourself.

Spot on, Paul. My server was running 5.3. I've switched up to 7.0 and the form is working now.
