Question about X5 Pro Store

My business offers regular store sales as well as wholesale. Is there a way in X5 Pro to allow for a Tax ID to gain access to the wholesale prices in my store? In otherwords if one of my wholesale places want to make an order for product, would/could there a special checkout code just for them?
This way I can just post a regular store and allow my speical customers to access their cost for products.
What exactly is a VAT? And how does it work?

Generally speaking there can only be one single shopping cart for each project, i.e. one single checkout process. If you need to have regular "special" conditions for the wholesale places, my suggestion is to create a separate project with an independent shopping cart the wholesale places can be redirected to which you can link to the main project.
