Page object for User Registration only
Autor: Jem C.Hi. I have a website that uses locked pages to allow access only to authorised users, each of whom Registers themselves on the site via the 'Automatic Registration' function (Reserved Access page)
I don't want the new-registration process to be linked to the shopping cart, so I simply take the new user to the 'Reserved Access' page (which is saved on the site as IMLogin.php). For neatness, I have embedded the IMLogin page in a responsive iFrame - see attachment.
Unfortunately, when my website users access this page, they see not only the 'NEW' user registration functionality that I want them to see (on the right), but also the Login / Reset functionality that appears as part of the IMLogin page. This is unnecessary and confusing!
It would be great if there was an object that just offered 'New Registration' - without the additional login/password reset stuff!
I note that this (or very similar) has been raised before by Amelie H. in post ..
WebSite X5 Help Center - Automatic user registration object
... back in September 2020.
I also notice that many of the 'Ideas' that get suggested get a polite acknowledgement, and then nothing further is heard afterwards. E.g. the Shopping Cart / Order process which is frankly broken, as the user can place an order then exit without paying.
What is the process for analysing / prioritising suggestions, and feeding back to the requesting user ?
Thanks, Jem
p.s. - An idea of what a New Registration page might look like ...
Hello. I sent a notification about your idea to the company employees, expect an answer from them here in the comments.
Hi Jem!
You could possibly use this Object: https://market.websitex5.com/it/oggetti/anteprima/331c1bf7-12ef-43d8-b329-352d615dfec
Thanks! Kind regards.

Hi Elisa. Unfortunately, the Login / Logout object doesn't work for me, as it is only valid for website users who already have an account on the system.
What i'm after is an object for new users only, that offers them the ability to register, but without any additional Login / Logout functions. Like the graphic below.
For new users, seeing a Login form when they're trying to register, is confusing and unnecessary.
I am experimenting with amending the IMLoging.php page, cutting out the portion of code that shows the Login form when folks register ... but I'm not an experienced coder so it's a process of trial and error.
However, I've achieved partial success in only 20 minutes, and I'm not familiar with the code. I'm convinced that someone from the Incomedia team could very quickly build a new page object, using a cut-down version of the code in the Reserved Page (IMLogin.php) - which would do the job nicely.
... and this is functionality that's been requested not just by me, but by others...
I do hope you can help rather than just 'refer to the employees' ... which in my excperience produces very little.
Kind Regards, Jem
