I hope Incomedia reads these posts. Ever since we installed the latest update we see a Box that says the Htaccess file will be updated.
Anytime we upload our website it cleans out all my redirects from the .htaccess file. This is creating a big problem for us.
Why was this added to the software? This is obviously a serious issue and we deserve a quick answer.
We are very dissapointed and need to hear from Incomedia about this immediately.
Thank you for your replies.

... and leave "Page 404" unchecked to prevent WebSite X5 from writing anything to the .htaccess file. Mark only "Hidden" and write the code for 404 yourself in the .htaccess file.
I don't have a pro version to test.

I don't remember ever setting up the 404 page. It dosent even appear in my site map.
I desperately need to make some changes on some pages, I am held hostage until this gets resolved.
Some have suggested to add some code to the .htaccess but I am confused which line to place it on.
Is there any way to reach Incomedia about this?
Thank you.

You can try putting this code at the beginning of the .htaccess file, maybe WebSite X5 will write its code there.
---- Code for .htaccess ----
# WebSite X5 - Start Code [do not edit]
# WebSite X5 - End Code
----------------------------
Then insert your own code into the .htaccess file and test it.
If there are still problems, then there was probably an error during the installation / update and WebSite X5 should be completely reinstalled, possibly several times.
To be on the safe side, make a backup copy with WebSite X5 before reinstalling.

If necessary, rename the iwzip file on the computer beforehand, then there will be 2 backup copies with different file names.
