I tried to start my WebSite X5 Pro today and received the following error message:
An error occurred while running the program. Please reinstall the program.
(Access to path'C:\Users\rjp95\AppData\Local\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Pro\dte.log' is denied.)
I've never had this problem before.
I reinstalled the program as suggested, but still received the same error message.
I can open up the C:\Users\rjp95\AppData\Local\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Pro\dte.log file in notepad, so I do have access to it under my Windows 11 sign on.
My system details:
Windows 11 Home
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K
32GB Memory
500GB Storage / 1TB SSD
Can anyone suggest how to resolve this issue?
Thank you.

The Access denied issue can appear if Windows system itself or an Antivirus-Software locks the project files. The software is then unable to operate on those, thus presenting these issues

Thank you for your reply, Franz-Josef H. It is appreciated.

Unfortunately, after disabling my Antivirus software and Windows Defender I tried to start the WebSite X5 Pro by running it as Administrator and I still get the same error message.
Are there any other suggestions that might help resolve this?

Hi,
Just to let anyone interested know that I have now resolved this problem.
The error message suggests that I reinstall the application.
This I did by first uninstalling WebSite X5 Pro and then reinstalling it. The problem still persisted, though.
Trying this again I noticed that these two files (both in the C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Local\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Pro\) were not removed by the uninstall:
dte.log
licence.iwl
I renamed these files to dte_old.log and licence_old.iwl and then reinstalled the application. This appears to have resolved the access denied error.
Anyway, it seems to be working fine now.
As an aside, I have no idea why this error suddenly appeared. I last used the application two months ago and it worked fine then.
