You will need to use an image editor program to generate an background image like this where you can create a gradient background.

Thanks, Claudio. When I create custom BG images from the Preview, Styles folder, they sometimes get overwritten and replaced by the originals upon saving/exporting. Any suggestions? ...J

If you edit the images in the Preview folder, everytime you refresh the preview, then these files get automatically overwritten.
You need to create the bg images and then in step 1 create a new custom template where you add the images in the Template Editor window so that these will be not overwritten by refreshin the preview.
You need to go to Step 1 - General Settings - and then open Template Selection and in this window click on New Template in the right menu. After a new template has been created double click on it so you can edit it and add your bg images in the various sections.
