Version 11...the usual upgrade problems  en

This upgrade seems a complete waste of money.

All it does is to rearrange things in a way that is cumbersome and difficult to navigate, especially for those used to v10.

The first problem I find is that there is a very seductive sales ploy to get people to buy it but there is absolutely NO instruction on how to secure the easiest and best installation!

How are we supposed to know that the template we use in v10 has to be exported and then imported into v11? Are we meant to be mind readers?

OK...I've got this cumbersome installation sort of working but I'm having to reconfigure every single aspect of the Menu creation, the buttons and the colours, etc.

For goodness sake you users out there DON'T uninstall or destroy your v10 until you've got v11 completely to your satisfaction.

This upgrade is not very good.

Of course, Incomedia possibly want people to buy there v11 PRO and have found that not as many people did so as it would have wished so it tries to squeeze a little more out of us.

I have no problem with those staff who advise us BUT I do find issue with the fact that it can take days sometimes for a problem to be resolved because you have to wait a whole day sometimes for each response.

The software lacks panache and sleekness.

Sorry Incomedia but I honestly feel you are doing the usual "rush to make available" before you've put into place proper notes for our installation.

ALSO...where are the "website keywords" and the "expert custom codes panel and Google verification panels?

Please don't keep making this post invisible...people should know!

Nigel

Hi Guys

There seems to be more issues than usual in upgrading to v11.

I was looking to upgrade from v10Evo to v11Pro... but Incomedia don't want you to do that without paying full price (virtually)

Support staff seem to have gone on stike again, as the time for issues resolved (if they are) is taking longer and longer.

The favourite ploy is not to answer at all... !

Hello Nigel,

About the template generally it should automatically be imported with the project when you use a custom template since this file is present.

Can you tell me if this happend with a custom template or one present in the program?

The keywords are available in step 2 for every single page since every page has different content and for a better SEO it is useful to use the keywords which describes every page content. For the statistic you find all in step 4 under "statistic, SEO and code".

Many thanks!

Hi Claudio...

It was the template I created from scratch and then widened (you'll remember).

Did you see the photo I included in the other post?

It's ok (in one sense) as I haven't uninstalled all my v10 stuff so I was able to export it and then bring it back into v10.

It takes ages (my website size) but that's fine now.

However, I had to reformat all the menu items (which I did by copying my formats in v10 and looking between the two screens ov v10 and v11)

However, (and I've posted this elsewhere) I cannot format the dropdownmenu as the programme aborts and shows the form. (I've included the text in the other thread and I've sent it to you via the form submission)

I tried the advice you gave someone else about NetFrames 3 an 4 but it's made no difference to the error production.

IF it's a Windows/PC error...well...my brand new PC has just arrived and I'll see what happens with 16gb RAM...lol!

Cheers,

Nigel

I've deleted it now.

However, we've moved on now to the dropdown menu and Font resolution issues.

I wonder if we were supposed to "open" the v10 project in v11 or, as I did, "import" the "iwzip" file.

However, I did "open" the project in the first instance.

(You'll be following my DropDownMenu" thread, I guess.

Hello Nigel,

Yes the projects needed to be imported but also if you opened them this should automatically import them in the program.

Many thanks!

Hello Nigel,

Sorry what font issue do you mean?

If it refers to the webfonts the fix is available on the beta channel and soon it will be available as official update.

Many thanks!
