I have locked a page on my website then uploaded it. When I click it all I get is a page of html code. Is it that my server won't support it?

Thanks but, what's php and how do I find out if my server has it?
Hello Joe,
PHP is an acronym for a scripting language which is often found on web hosts' servers.
It's very useful. WebSite X5 uses PHP scripts to implement many of its more advanced functions, such as access management. These functions can't run if the server doesn't have PHP installed.
It's very rare nowadays for PHP not to be present. Usually there is some version on the server, even if it is a bit out of date.
Can you tell us who you host with? I shall make some enquiries on your behalf.
Can you also provide the domain name of the site you are working on?
Kind regards,
Paul

Hi
I checked with my server and they don't host php.
Another problem, I lost my whole project. How did this happen? Needess to say I don't have a back-up copy. It's not in the Incomedia file. Is there a way to get it back?
Joe
Unfortunately, that's very poor by today's standards. You won't be able to utilise and enjoy many of the rich features of WebSite X5 without moving to a web host who supports PHP.
WebSite X5 Evolution 10 maintains its own backup copies of project files. Please read the following article for details on how to restore:

Having said that, I cannot over-emphasise the necessity for backup of any project to an external medium, such as portable hard drive, NAS drive, cloud storage, etc.
Go Daddy is excellent! Also 24 hour tech line!
