Automatic Reply to  en

I have purchased off you people Website5 ver 10 Evolution and find it an excellent programme apart from one small glitch described as follows.

The “Automatic Response” to a “Contact Us” E-Mail only works if the person who sends the message has a Google E-Mail address.

If the person that sends the message has a Hotmail/Outlook address they only get the Header & Footer but the body of the message is missing.

Otherwise, the person that sends the message gets all of the Automatic Reply, but it is all jumbled up in Code.

Hopefully you can provide me with a fix for this problem as having it only working with Google is not an option.

Kind Regards

Bob Morrison

Hello Bob,

I've just used your contact form to send a quick test message and I got the reply OK as follows, without using a Google email address:

Thank you for contacting us. This is an automated response confirming the receipt of your message.

We shall reply shortly.

Regards

SockAid Team.

I don't think WebSite X5 will be at fault here but I do recommend that you update to the latest release 10.1.12.57 as a matter of good practice:

I suggest contacting your web host and describing the issue to them.  Perhaps the solution lies with the configuration of your server.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thank you Paul for your prompt reply.

I can advise that I have updated the programme as you suggested and then the Website, but no luck, the glitch still exists.

I have also contacted the Web Host who has responded as follows:

“Hello Bob,

Thank you for writing in.

The issue is not related to server side. It is the email authority which displays your message in normal or HTML format.

Feel free to revert to us in case you require any further assistance.

Regards

Somnath”

I am wondering if there is something in the code that is effecting different Spam Filters and the like which are responding differently????

I will attach the message as received with Vodafone as the ISP. Just hope the code doesn’t set off any alarms over there.

If you go to Step 4 Advanced Settings > Data Management, then you'll find a couple of drop-down menus which allow you to alter the configuration of the email scripts from the default.

The next thing I would advise would be to try sending test messages using the various options available, if you haven't already done so.  The alternative scripts are sometimes required to solve issues on certain servers.

Note, of course, that you'll have to reupload afresh each time you make a change to the settings.

I don't completely agree with the Web Host's reply: the issue could be server side.  But we will exhaust all other possibilities for now.

Kind regards,

Paul

PS: you can also test your email settings by logging in to your WebSite X5 online control panel here:

Many thanks Paul.

Yes dropping Server Script Quality from Standard to Low did the trick.

You effort is appreciated.

Kind Regards

Bob
