Is the crash occurring on an existing WebSite X5 project only, or do you find it happens in new, blank projects too?

If it occurs on an existing project, has the project been imported from a previous version?

Can you post details of the error message?  Either the text, or a screenshot...

The crash happens on a new site and template that I'm using. However the text I have copied from version 10. On another page of imported text, I created a link, saved it but the link didn't appear in the preview. Hope that answers the questions.

Thanks for the prompt reply and for providing the information as requested.

Seeing as the crash is occurring on a new site I will notify Incomedia on your behalf for technical support.  If it is a regular, consistent crash then they may wish to investigate a possible bug.

Incomedia support staff return to work on Monday.  In the meantime it wouldn't be a bad idea to check your computer for any Windows updates, and especially any updates to the Microsoft .NET framework...  WebSite X5 relies on this technology and it would be good to rule updates out at this stage.

If you click the little padlock icon in your first post then you will be able to communicate directly with Incomedia support in private, including forwarding the URL of your site, etc.

The thread is locked (private) when you see a padlock icon appear at the top of your first post on refreshing the page.

I've checked the and Microsoft updates are ok. Also I downloaded NET framework v4 (just in case) and got the following message when I when to install it - 'Same or higher version of .NET Framework 4 has already been installed on this computer'.

I will forward to URL privately as I found last night that having copied content from an earlier version (10) and pasting it through Paste Special, I was able to create links but these were not visible in preview!

The situation as regards my site seems to be getting worse, it is closing down after I make changes and the attached message after it closes down. I have tried reinstating the software without success.

Does the same happens if you start a new project and in it you try to add a link?

You can send us an email with the project file (the file with .IWZIP extension) as attachment to file@answers.websitex5.com using as Subject “Post 106148 per Claudio D.” so I can check the project to see why you get this error.
If your project size is more than 10 megabytes, you can use online services like www.wetransfer.com to send  us your project.
To export the project you want to send us, please use the function “Export the Project” in Step 5.

Any update or progess on sorting out my difficulties with Evolution 11?

It is now 4 days since I first communicated with you about the difficulties I am experiencing with Evolution 11 and I wonder is there an update or an answer to the questions I asked in order to solve the problem of crashing everytime I attemp to include a link in the body of the text?

With every new comment you add the priority starts from begin and you need to wait again 24 hrs until the message is read by the technical support. Add only new message if necessary so you will not need to wait longer.

I tested the project with the hyperlinks but it never crashed. In this case please try following:

Subscribe to the Beta Channel by following the steps you find here:

http://beta.websitex5.com/

Once done open the program, update to the new beta version you will see. Select the project and duplicate it and then open the duplicate copy and test if on this one the same happens.

If the same happens please let me know the windows version you are using and the exact sptes you do to make it crash.

Prior to activating the beta version, I added the update to my original version of Evolution 11 and tried added a link. Guess what - it crashed!

I have logged on to the beta link provided above, entered my licance number and accepted. What do I do next to get or download the beta version and to try it.

Once you subscribed to the beta channel you need to start the program and then you will see a new update is available. You need to install this update and then open again the project.
