Why don't my new blogs show up instantly when uploaded?  en

Hi,

Why don't my new blogs show up instantly when uploaded? Everything else shows up instantly when I update my website but blogs often take like a whole day to show up! This is very frustrating especially when blogs are your websites main focus. Is this normal? It doesn't seem so... Please tell me how I can make my new blogs upload instantly. Thanks.

I assume you pressed ctrl-F5 after uploading when viewing you blog ?

It should show up instantly.

You mean refresh? Yeah I did. Even cleared the cache & tried 4 different browsers & it didn't show up. No idea why this is happening but it's happened twice now. It takes up to 24 hours for a blog to show up after I've uploaded it! Everything else shows up instantly though, it's just new blogs. Any ideas what the problem could be?

To elaborate, I can see my new blogs instantly while I'm in the X5 program, but what I mean is when I upload the changes, I can't instantly see my new blogs online on my site. It reflects all other changes instantly, but not the blog which takes ages to show up. This isn't normal right?

I just uploaded a new blog called "test 2" in my submitted music section at 5:12pm Australia eastern standard time and it still hasn't shown up as usual. Maybe you can go check it out now and see what you see that it's not there. These blog do have YouTube video's embedded in them so could it be that's why it takes so long to show up?? I'm confused.

I did several tests and it was consistent. Any further help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello L Fiers,

Can it be the hosting server uses a different timezone? If yes when you add an entry in the blog try to add the date accoridng to the timezone of the hosting server since in Version 11 it has been introduced the function to make appear the blogs according to the date entered and if the timezone is different this could be the cause of the issue.

Many thanks!

Yeah I am pretty sure my hosting provider is in a different timezone especially since it is across the other side of the planet. So you are saying I should change the time to the same as the hosting provider? What if it's a bit before or after? What it's like a minute or 2 different, would this till work? I don't understand why X5 doesn't take update the blogs immediately regardless of timezones...

Hello L Fiers,

The program checks the date you entered to show it and then according to the server date it will be displayed. You don't need to set the exact time but the date according to the server timezone.

This happens because it has been introduced the function to allow you to add posts for the future to be displayed automatically when this date arrives. Try to set as date of your blog posts 1 day before and then these will appear immediatly.

Many thanks!

Hello, I have the same problem. I found that by setting the date of my post to be one day before the actual date of the post (which is a bug as far as I am concerned) then it will show. The feature you are referring to, will this be addressed/fixed in a future update???

Sincerely,

Dennis

I agree with Dennis that it is a bug that needs to be addressed. I have to set it one day back for it to show as well.

Hello Dennis,

It is not a bug of the program but more an incorrect time setting of the hosting server. The Program uses always as time GMT so if you and the host server have different timezones there will not de a different date or time but if the hosting server has a wrong time configuration then it will not use the correct time in GMT and this causes the delay.

You will need to contact the hosting provider to ask how to change the time settings to make it work according the GMT time set in the code and not the one of the servers timezone.

Many thanks!
