URGENT! Upgrade problem 11.02.14 BETA  en

There is a massive problem when updating to 11.02.14 BETA.

The update occurs...no problem...but upon the automatic start of the programme a crash occurs around the area of 57% loaded on the progress bar.

ALWAYS backing up my project files, I uninstalled my Website 11 and downloaded a fresh copy from the Incomedia website and used my previously backed up copy of the project files to reload.

I then repeated the start of the 11.02.13 and allowed the update of 11.02.14 BETA.

The same thing happens again.

As you know, I have no memory problems and plenty of RAM.

I would be grateful if Incomedia could treat this urgently.

Thank you,

Nigel

ADDENDUM

I started 11.02.14 BETA and received message "wasn't closed properly, etc." I clicked "ok" and my project was immediately accessible (WITHOUT ANY LOADING PROGRESS BAR!!!)

The "save" button was live but what I did was to click on PREVIEW.

This took a few minutes but then the "save" button was dimmed and I could close my programme immediately.

Don't know if this helps to analyze the problem.

Nigel,

Why you had a crash I don't know, works everything now ok again after restart?

The save button is live when there is a change, next to the save button there is a pulldown menu, if you select there save upon preview then when by pressing preview your project is saved automaticly and preview shows up. after close the save button will then be dimmend. I think thats the case, it's a standard setting that you change yourself in the small pulldown menu next to the save button.

Hope this helps,

BR André

Andre and Nigel

I have had the same probs as above. I have found the way the save button and the preview button work to be totally different in one respect.

If you open your old project and ensure it works, then hold CTR key down and mouse click the review button, it cleans cache stored in the review part of save and this also affects some of the files like Javascript not being saved.

Then export your zip file and import into V11.

It seems to work for me.Some files couldnt be imported so I recreated a few into the new V11 Pro folders and relinked them.

I discovered all this when a slideshow didnt upload from V11 and then Javascript would load on the ipad browser... go figure!

Hope this helps somewhat.

Hi Nigel,

I've edited this thread a little to ensure that other users understand that any issue is confined to the BETA release.

There are some guidelines on how to report any bugs in beta versions here:

http://beta.websitex5.com/beta_en.html

Thanks for reporting it, and I hope you find a solution.

Kind regards,

Paul

Everything's fine now but we never seem to get to the bottom of these problems.

There are possible big lags in certain catching up in the internal re-writing of CSS and moving on to another editing mode BEFORE the last thing has happened so that some processes aren't allowed to finish properly...possibly related to big sites like my own?

Thanks Andre and Paul for your attention.
