Republishing unchanged pages with PDF files  en

I am using the latest websitex5 version. My site has an archive page of past newspapers since 2007. On that one page, I add the current edition every week. When I publish, all the PDF files are republished. Today, I found an error on the Front Page link to the current edition, corrected it, and republished. Now all the PDFs are being uploaded again. I don't understand this. All the PDFs are on my site server, so why are they re-uploading?

Hello Kitty,

If you make any change to the page or object where these PDF files are linked the program sees this page as updated and uploads all the content linked in it.

Since older pdf files are already online, what you can do is to copy the link to the files and in the program, change the link form the local file to the one already online, so in case it will be necessary to make a complete export these files will no longer be uploaded.

Many thanks!

Actually, I have an even better idea. I will create two archive pages. One the current year, and the other will be all the other years. That should at least partially fix my problem.
