Idea for a better calendar 
Author: John S.The ”full calendar” has the disadvantage, that it is only the webmaster that can put data in the calendar, and the calendar is therefor not interactive.
My idea is the following :
It should be possible to have a new object “resource” .
The resource should be the same as the guestbook, but instead of “vote” it should be possible to put in a date and a starttime and a finishtime. On the page the user should see the name of the resource ( to see what he/she books ).
Perhaps the resource-file should have the same name as the resource and not a generated name as the guestbook-file.
Also it could be made so, that the username ( from the login page ) would be put in the file so that the webmaster could, if necessary, inspect the xml file to see who really booked the resource and not only the usertyped name.
The webmaster should be able to name the resource ex. Car 1, car 2 or conference room 1, conference room 2 or av equipment 1 , AV equipment 2, AV equipment 3 – all resources a small firm or a hobby club, or whatever could have the need to have a calender where one could see if the resource were available at the time where it was needed and then “book” it, and/or see what person had the resource and at what time.
Summary – You have one or more ressources and persons/users can ( via locked pages ) via an entry in the resource ( exactly like the guestbook ) book that resource.
The calendar should be able to read the resource files instead of the static file ( *.ics) it does now.
You could then in the calendar see the resources and when they are available.
The calendar could/should be able to read more ressources and then the user could ( via a dropdown ) click on what resources the user want to see in the same calendar. Or the webmaster could choose to have several calendars showing each one resource.
This is wery similar to the google calendar, but X5 then uses “resource - files” instead of a calendarprogram to input data.
Each resource could have an algorithme that checked for that there is no double-booking.

You can then to the right for uge måned, click on the drop-down, and see what i mean.
Imagine that each entry in the calendar comes from one entry in the guestbook/resource, and that DDBU hold, DDBU hold 2.. each is a resouce-file.
Hope that You can see the idea.
I endorse this post and miss myself the opportunity that members can create new appointments in the calendre without having to contact the webmaster of this. Likewise, it should be possible to create a calendar where for example tennis player can book a tennis court via the website. The calendar has great potential if there was some more features in it. A easyer way to enter the appointments would be nice too.
