Problem uploading to internet

I am trying to update a website using WebsiteX5 v8. each time I try to export to the internet, it tells me - unable to connect to server. It doesn't say what the problem is. I have try to upload directly through the control panel of the hosting party but it doesn't recognise .iwp files. Can anyone help please?

Use a seperate ftp program like fillezilla.
