How to delete video files from the project file  en

For a website I work on, I first put all the videos than I wanted on the website straight in the project as a video. Later I found out that it eats to much space at my webserver, so I removed them and substituted them with youtube links.

My problem is the following. Although nowhere in my project I now have a local video linked to the project, everytime I want to update the website online, website x5 evoltion (version 10) starts to upload the "old" video files.

Is there any way to get rid of them permanently?

Thanks for your help

Micha,

First of all, add your licence here, this way we can help you better and you have more options in Answers as well.

Try to export your project in step 5 and import it back again. Check out if the uploads are gone.

Hello,

Late reply, we were out. I got version 10 registered on another email address (***). Do you want me to log in through that one and ask the question again?

BTW: Exporting and importing back again the project, unfortunately did not bring the right result.

No you don't need to for me, buts its easyer to have 1 account with all your information.

But yhen I need to ask if you have the latest update from v10, I assume you do ..... elde update.

IT's strange, this usally helps, exporting the project in step5, importing it in project selection. then do full upload to your server with the imported project. You should not see the files anymore if you deleted all content and links before you export.

Seems my v10 was not updated, I did. After that I treid the same procedure but no results. It even keeps on uploading the different pages I have deleted.

Have you got any other suggestions?

Thanks

Hello Micha / Andre,

Two additional steps which I have found are sometimes necessary to completely purge the project of redundant files:

1.  Delete the contents of the 'Preview' and 'Upload' folders located in the Windows user 'Documents' folder under Incomedia/WebSite X5, etc.  (delete contents only, leaving folders intact)

2.  Hold down the 'CTRL' key whilst entering the 'Preview' mode in WebSite X5.  Allow sufficient time for the preview to build to completion as indicated by the progress bar in the bottom right of the screen

Then export and re-import the project as Andre suggests.

Hope this might be of some use.

Kind regards,

Paul
