RSS Blog?
Author: P. SHello Sorry to ask again, but can someone confirm this?
I have created a blog, which works fine (no comments included in blog). However, i have checked the box "Create RSS" in the properties, but i can't work out what i need to do to actually get the RSS to work.
I put a link on a page, and selected "Create RSS Feed Including Blog Comments" from the hyperlink box, but when clicked, no page can be found.
Do i need to enter some details in "RSS Feed" in "4 Advanced Settings" first?
If i understand this right, i should just go to the XML view of the blog.
In my public folder i have two new files, versions.xml and blogversions.xml. I also have a blog folder that contains various x5feed files. One of these files x5feed.php, when opened, looks like the rss feed.
But the link i made on my page, using the RSS Feed hyperlink points to /x5feed.php i.e. not in the blog folder.
I just want to make sure i should be pointing to /blog/x5feed.php?
Also, does it have to be called x5feed? I would prefer somethin more in line with the page.
Thankyou for any help.
P.S,
Let me give it try.
First of all don't look at the files too much, let x5 handle it for you, that's why you bought it and it will do the job well. So no, don't change the names of files.
The hyperlink is used to add to your visitors favorites so they can then select direct feeds to go to. (for RSS feeds) these can lead you to the atest news or info of your pages anywhere on your site
It's not custom to use this for the blog cause you have a blog page where all is already sorted. But if you want you can set it manually by using the link file or url option and set it to the blogx5feed.php file. Normally just point to the blog page, that link is available directly.
I set the 2 as example on my test site (click my picture)
Hope this helps, else let me know !
