Hello William,

You can force a page refresh whilst viewing any web page in your browser by holding the 'CTRL' key down whilst pressing 'F5'

If this is not what you mean then can you be more explicit about how you would like to implement a page refresh?

Kind regards,

Paul

When a person type in or clicks a bookmark, I want the page to do a refresh no matter what.

William, it helps to know why you want this. Could you tell us?

It is not recommandable. specially for speed and handheld use it's annoying.

For normal visiting users it is not an issue only if you visit very often and change your site very often, for yourself this is normal, but does this count for most of your visitors? Do they complain ?

You can use custom code to do some extra refreshes but again, I would strongly suggest not to use it.

I agree with what Andre has said, William.

If you must make absolutely certain that each and every visitor to your page is always viewing the freshest content, then it is preferable to set a short cache time using the .htaccess file on your server (as opposed to forcing a refresh).

However, this will increase bandwidth and download times...  use it only if you absolutely must...  as Andre points out, most web visits are relatively infrequent.
