Please help!

I have created a database on the server with database name, username and password.

The setup on the form appears to be correct in regard to the database name host name and username.

The site is online and i can login to the admin section of the domain.

However it appears that besides the information displayed the only other options are Test and Logout.

I cannoy access the db at all or see ant data.

Am I logging in to the wrong area?

Regards

Hello Chris,

Yes, if you want to see the actual data contained in your new database then you will need to use a utility such as phpMyAdmin...  many web hosts include this as a standard feature in their control panels:

https://www.phpmyadmin.net/

The WebSite X5 control panel serves a slightly different purpose...  there is access to a limited set of data as described in the WebSite X5 help file:

http://help.websitex5.com/en/v11/pro/index.html?pannello_controllo.htm

There is a new Database Viewer Object available which you can incorporate into a project if you wish to show data from a MySQL database in your web pages:

Kind regards,

Paul

Go to Step 3 Pages Creation...  click on the 'Manage' icon next to the Objects drop-down list at the far right of the screen  (see the attached screenshot)

In the new screen which opens you will see the Database Viewer Object listed in the 'Database' section

Hello Paul,

Thanks very much.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the data to the database from the online form.
