Hello John,
In which Windows version do you get this message?
Try to install visual c++ 2013 from following link and then try again:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
Many thanks!
Author
Claudio... Windows 8.1.
Also, which version of visual c++ would you suggest, there are three.
Thank you
Author
Claudio... I just checked, I already have Visual c++ installed. This problem just began since reinstalling Norton. X5 ran perfectly prior to that, I was 3/4 of the way through building a site. Hope this helps. Thanks
Hello John,
Did you have visual c++ 2013 installed or a previous version?
Try also to install the previous version from here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003
And proceed to repair .NET in this way:
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. Clear also the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 and then click on OK.
After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and 4.5 and then click ok.
Probably Norton changed some system files and now these are not working correctly.
Try also to reinstall the program.
Keep me updated.

Claudio... c++ 2013 is installed. Will follow remainder of your instructions in a bit and let you know outcome. Thank you for the assist.

c++ 2013 and previous versions are installed. cleared and re-enabled both framework 3.5 and 4.5; program still will not start. Same error message received.
Hello John,
Thank you for the informations. As it seems other components are missing and it would ge useful to try to reinstall all the .NET Frameworks by starting from .NET 2.
Use the cleanup tool from following link and remove .NET 3, 2.5 and then 2:
http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
Once done install them again in this order:
Framework 2.0:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=1639
Framework 2.5:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16508
Framework 3.0:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3005
Please keep me updated.

Claudio, downloaded Framework 2.5 but would not allow me to install, indicated I needed Visual Studio 2005?! I checked programs/features in my control panel and did not see it.
Hello John.
We recently found out that the reason why many weren't solving their problems with CEFSharp by reinstalling Visual C++, is that independently from your OS, you should install Visual C++ 2013 x86, 32 Bit and not x64, 64 BIT.
Please proceed to trying that and let me know
Author
Stefano, according to my Programs and Features list, Visual C++ 2013 x86, 32 Bit is already installed and I still can not open X5. Please, this has been going on for a week and I'm no closer to a solution now than I was a week ago. I have a site 3/4 complete and can't finish it. This is becoming frustrating... please try to repsond to my updates more than once a day, we can save some time that way. Thank you.

Uninstalled and reinstalled with no change... still can not open app. did likewise withVisual C++ 2013 x86, 32 Bit
Hello John,
Apologies in advance for breaking in on this thread, but I thought you might like to take a look at another thread, with circumstances remarkably similar to your own:

Hope this helps in some way.
Kind regards,

No need to apologize Paul... will take any and all help. I'll check it out and let you know outcome. Thanks
Author
Paul,
The link you provided suggests changing the default installation folder to c:\program files (x36) websitex5... this IS the folder the program installs to... no change... SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! Thanks
Are you sure about that, John?
C:\Program Files(x86)\WebSite X5
vs
C:\Program Files(x86)\WebSite X5 v11 - Evolution
There is a difference... WebSite X5 installs into the latter by default... please change the installation directory to the former and test.
Author
Paul,
Point well made... changed the installation directory toC:\Program Files(x86)\WebSite X5 , with ufortunately the same results, app will not open and receiving the same error message.
Here is an alternative solution which worked for another user, John:
https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/109312
You can download the files he refers to free from the following source:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcp110
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr110
Unfortunately I cannot advise whether the 32-bit or 64-bit versions were the solution, so it might be an idea to temporarily try both. The files are very small and download will not take long at all. Use the ZIP download option as opposed to the other two.

Thanks Paul, will try in a bit and post results.
Author
Paul,
Ive attached a screen shot of what I experience when trying to install one of the referenced .dll's
Hi John,
The DLL files don't need installed as such, you just need to copy them and paste them into the same directory as your WebSiteX5.exe program file.
For some reason I think you're getting an error whilst trying to extract the contents of the ZIP file? Try extracting to your desktop first, then copying and pasting from there straight into C:\Program Files(x86)\WebSite X5 - if you decide to revert to the default installation folders then put the files in C:\Program Files(x86)\WebSite X5 v11 - Evolution instead.
I've bundled the two files that I think you need in a single ZIP folder (attached).
I've used the 32-bit versions as my gut instinct is that those are the ones required, but keep us posted as to how you get on.

Thank you again Paul, will give it a shot when I return from church.

As indicated... SUCCESS! Many thanks my friend, your help is much appreciated.
