Hi I really need help with my shopping cart. My issue is with my shopping cart I am trying to sell record vinyls such as LPS/ 12 inch singles and 7 inch singles. My postage and packaging for LPS/ 12 inch singles will be £4 for the first item and £1 for any additional LP and my 7 inch singles will be to pound £2.50 for the first item and an additional £1 for each.

I have tried and tried many different ways but I cannot get it to work im getting very frustrated as I have spent a lot of money for the professional version hoping it would be able to cope with this please help me

Hello Mike Davey,

The shipping costs cost can only be set accoridng to the number o products or weight.

What you can do is use different weights for the 12 and 7 inches where then you create a specific rule for the shipping costs as example you use for the 7inch weight 1 and you create the rule if weight 1 cost 2,50 if weight 2 cost 3,50 and so on. For the 12 inch you use as weight 100 and you set the cost to 4 and for weight 200 cost 5.

Many thanks!

What you suggested almosts work but doesn't actually....

Ok this is what i've done...

Each & every 7" singles weight is set to 1.00

Each & every 12" / LP weight is set to 100.00

The shipping type under the order management cost is as follows...

  1. set as 'cost related to total weight' is selected
  2. >=1.00     cost = £2.50
  3. >=2.00     cost = £3.50
  4. >=3.00     cost = £4.50    etc etc
  5. >=100.00  cost = £4.00
  6. >=200.00  cost = £5.00
  7. >=300.00  cost = £6.00    etc etc

Now if i add one 7" to the cart it comes up as £2.50, if i add a second it's £3.50, and a third it's £4.50..... BRILLIANT!

Now if i add an LP it's comes up as £4.00 P&P, £5.00 for 2 LPs & £6.00 for 3 LP's

This is not correct..... i have three 7" singles & three LP's in my cart & the total p&p is £6.00 when it should be £10.50 ?

Thanks again

Mike

Hello Mike,

In this case you need to define also the cases like weight 101, 102, 103 and so on where 101 costs 6.50£, 102 7.50£, etc, then on 201 7.50£, for 301 8,50£

Many thanks!
