How can we build a member registration for a website which can automatically register users without having to update the DB throught the Control Panel?

I am talking about the Professional version which has the Automatic Registration.

How can you make someone register after they have choosen the items they want to buy instead of making them register first to access a shopping cart for example?

Although registration is automatic in the sense that WebSite X5 can set up the user account without manual input from the webmaster, nevertheless it can never be forced...  it is always optional.

You could have a hidden page in your project which invites shoppers to register for an account following completion of a purchase, and if they choose to do so then WebSite X5 will create the account and issue confirmation emails, etc. automatically.

By default, shoppers will be able to access the WebSite X5 shopping cart without registering.  You can reverse this if you wish by locking all product pages, which will require a username and password before they can be accessed.

"If Automatic Registration is set as the Registration Mode, all the data on new users who register is stored in the relative section of the online Control Panel. To keep the list of users registered with WebSite X5 constantly up to date, you have to do the following..."

Is there any way that my client do that on his own somehow without having the Website x5?

Say if that is ok.

What happens next time when the user log on and wants to purchase something again? Will the shopping cart ask for all the users details again if he has already purchased something in the past?

The shopping cart will, yes.  The cart does not pre-fill any fields during checkout with stored data.

User registration within WebSite X5 involves a username, password and email address only.  No other data is stored or tied to an account, although the webmaster can add notes to each account for his/her own reference.

Your client would need their own copy of WebSite X5 as the update feature is located in Step 4 Access Management of the software itself.

So if I make a website for a client with a member registration form, you are saying that for every new member that registers I would need to update throught my copy of WebSite X5 every time?

Do you really find this "Professional'?

Automatic registration works perfectly without any input from the webmaster without ever using the update feature: the update feature is only provided to refresh the list of users in connection with the admin feature.

And please note, I am a regular user like yourself, and yes I do find WebSite X5 a professional product.  It has given me sterling service over many years and I have nothing but praise for the creators and its ongoing development.
