I have been struggling to use the resposive design function in the new version and I think I've found out why - the line break function doesn't appear to included in the standard version.

Hello again Gary,

Yes, I believe that is correct.  I have compared the help files of both editions and the relevant section discussing line breaks is absent for the Evolution edition.

This must be part of the difference between Standard and Premium Responsive Design as described by Incomedia in their product comparison chart:

http://static.incomedia.eu/websitex5.com/v12/v12_comparative_chart_en.pdf

If you feel that you need the additional features of the Professional version then I'm sure the Incomedia support staff will help you to change product.  There is after all a 30-day warranty on all their software.

Set this post to 'Private' if you wish to discuss such options with Incomedia directly.  You can do this by clicking on the small padlock icon at the bottom right of your initial post.

Kind regards,

Paul

I'd say this is a pretty mean way for them to treat their customers when in reality it means they aren't offering a truly responsive product. I won't be upgrading to the pro as I won't be held to ransom and will think twice about purchasing the next evolution version now too.

Too bad you feel that way Gary. When all things are considered X5 Pro is still a good deal. Other programs have a steep learning curve and or a lack of features. The "liquid or fluid" program you're looking for cost 120/190 US dollars and you can only insert text and images at this point. No menu bar, no site map or tree, nothing. (I know, for I've made a non-tax deductable donation. Should have waited.)

Also the compare products chart does show 2 levels of responsive. Do the trial version of Pro. See if you have a deal in your offers page and or ask for one as Paul posted.

Do the trial versions of the 3 other programs that are responsive and see what you think. (Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt and the programs including a couple more that are not responsive.)

Website X5 is kind of like Responsive Web Design for Dummies, but with all the features that people wished they had in their (other) programs. Check out other programs, forums and blogs.  Website X5 Evo and Pro are truly unique.
