Hallo friends,

1)I bought WebsiteX5 Evolution 9 severals years ago. I installed it on my old PC (WXP32bit). But icon on my desktop shows that I have version8 (info in Help button shows that I have installed version 8.0.9)

Now I do not know what I have...8 or 9. That is my first question.

2)For long time I use only my Notebook (W7 64bit). I want to install WebSite also on Notebook (because need to update my website and I want to do in on Notebook not on old PC) I know that it possible - it is allowed. But which version I have to install and where I can download it? I think. (I can not find on old PC appropriate software...)

Thank you for answer in advance.

Lubo

Hello Lubo,

You should be able to download any versions of WebSite X5 for which you hold valid licenses at the following location:

https://answers.websitex5.com/profile/downloads

Version 8.0.9 denotes that you have version 8 installed on your desktop.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul,

thank you for answer. Is it OK that I have installed 8.0.9 version with registration code for version 9?

So, I wil download SW from link you wrote, install.

On old PC I try to do som project export

Exported file/files I copy to new Notebook and import to version9

Export will export all source data(files) or onli links to them?

Thanks

Lubo

Unfortunately not, you will need to start from scratch again, I'm afraid.

For future security export your projects regularly as IWZIP files in Step 5, and store these files on a different medium to your computer hard drive.

Good luck!

Paul,

please, is it possible to edit file path for existing gallery? I transfered my data from PC to Notebook. I made the same tree structure, but HDD name is not the same. Therefore pictures in existing gallery are not visible - they have incorrect path. Only the way I found, is insert each picture to gallery once again and then delete old one... But it is very boring and time killing procedure...

Thanks

I understand what you mean, Lubo, but unfortunately it's not possible to accomplish what you describe.  You will have to insert each picture manually again, just as you are already doing.

The good news is that from version 9 onwards all project files are stored within WebSite X5's internal library, so this need never happen again, providing that you regularly export updated IWZIP files as project backups.  The IWZIP files encapsulate all your project data (including images), enabling you to move your project from one computer to another with ease.  So export regularly to IWZIP format, and keep those files safe.
