Member only access page  en

I have created a page for members.  From the home screen if you click on the members box.  It then will ask the user for the id and password.  I also created a page that is hidden which contains the PdF file link to access the Members Roster.  I created a user with an ID and Password and set it to open the hidden page with the link on that page to the Members Roster.

What am I doing wrong when I go to the web page and click on the members box and it goes to the page where I enter the login credentials it shows a bland page not the page that has the pdf file on it.

What I want is to have members enter an ID and password and then have the ability to click on the pdf file to view it.

I do not think you need the hidden page, you should create the page with the PDF and then protect it, the content on the page will become available after entering ID & password. Any other pages with links to that page will also request id and password.

So when I create the member page and I set it to be locked on the sitemap and then on the page creation I put a text box with my PDF file.  Do I add the HTLM code button also to the page to add the login widget?

When I tried this before it didn't work.  Can you send me an example of what the page looks like including the edit box?

I have set my users in access management entrance page to be the member page.

Kathy, I do not know if I do this the correct way, but it just seems to work. Select a page and put any content on it you want, now go to (4) Advanced Settings, Access Management. Select Group 1, and then new user. Fill in username and password  and click OK, on the settings tab (top right) you can write whatever you like, now return to (2) Map creation and highlight your page then select Locked page.

When you preview locally you will see a note appear, but when online the user will need to know the username and password to access the page whether they came there from a menu item or a link from another page, they will see what you wrote under settings above and websiteX5 will provide a username and password box.

I am sure there are other things you can/should do (add new groups?), but this works for me on a couple of sites.

Can you give me an example of your page creation?

When you set the page to locked do you have to add the html code to the page?

Under the user do you have an entrance page?

I did as you instructed but using the same page for the logon using the html logon widget and the pdf file which is on the same page it allows access to the pdf file without entering a passcode.

I also tried creating a blind page with the pdf object on it and set that as the entrance page for the user once the passcodes were entered but it did not go to that page it just went back to the page with the logon ID's

Click on Test for Kathy

username is Kathy, password is Kathy

I did only as decribed in my above post, I added no html code (not necessary), the entrance/login page is automamagically created by WebsiteX5 as detailed above.

Kathy, I have never used (and cannot find) the so call html login widget.

I created a user login, I created a page and I selected who could log in when I locked the page.  Unless you are trying to achieve something else, it is simple.
