X5 will not edit HTML created in other editor program  en

I created a webpage in another program (coffee cup HTML editor) and replaced the index.html in the icomedia preview folder with the new one. However, when I open Website X5, I can see the new page in preview but when I go to edit the new page, I see the old index page structure. I do not see the new index page layout and I cannot see any of the html code. In other words, it looks like the program is still looking at the old layout. What file is it getting the old structure information from? When I save, it is overwriting the new index with the old index structure.

Also, I don't see the auto insert feature when writing the HTML code, or how do you invoke it? I like the easy layout features of Website X5 but I use the other program to do HTML because it is easier to me, anyway. I don't understand why X5 is not letting me edit the new index page.

Hello Harold,

WebSite X5 is an HTML/CSS generator.  It is possible to edit pages created using WebSite X5, but not possible to import/edit pages created in alternative software.

Kind regards,

Paul
