Two problems: Sync and discount expiry

I have two problems with my site:
1. On my welcome page http://afeditions.co.uk/index_html.html I have a selection of pics to marry up to text that is timed to change in sync. The text objects are in tabs and change in sequence with the pictures. However, I have noticed after a few rotations, they become out of step with the text and so don't keep order correctly.
2. On my shop page http://afeditions.co.uk/shop.html I had a sale for a month with %discount and an expiry date. However, the discount didn't revert to zero on the expiry date, I had to remove it manually.
Can someone explain how to solve these problems for future reference?

Hello Anthony,
Try to remove some of the custom HTML codes you added on the page and then test it again. It can depend on those since they can slow down other functions and cause the experienced issue.
Thje expire date is only for the coupon function. You need to enable the coupon function and then these coupons can have an expiring date.

ok thanks, but does seem silly one can't just have a discount sale for a month without coupons....
