I just purchased Version 12 professional and there seem to be a few bugs.

One issue i am finding is in the calendar icon on the email form. Its works fine in the preview but as soon as I upload it to the website it wont work.

The website is www.markfarrellphotography.com

The second is that no pictures are showing in the Gallary when uploaded but do show in the program preview.

the url is not working.

Check if your hosting package includes PHP support, if not then upgrade your package and try again.

Hi

There was an issue with dns which is now resolved. Just waiting for the global servers to populate the new IP.

The Hosting COmpany said that my package do support PHP. He asked what version is needed.

Any Ideas? I ahve version 7 right now.

5.5 should be ok. Let's wait till your hosting has all in order and see if that already helps.

The DNS is now fixed

I chose PHP 5.5 but still having issues.

If i choose a "Thumbnail per Page" gallary it works OK but if i choose a classic slkideshow for example it wont appear.

Also when is fill out the email contact i get the following message

"You must activate JavaScript!
You'll be redirected to the previous page in 5 seconds"

All help is much appreciated.

Hello Gary,

What browser/device are you using to test?

Your issues are both related to JavaScript...  the date picker in the email form, the slideshow...  both use JavaScript...  make sure it is switched on in the browser before testing.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul.

I tried it on Firefox, Chrome edge and IE. ALso on IOS and android devices.

I have another website with the same issue (www.kinsalechartes.com)  that used to work up to i upgraded to version 12 professional. It was created in evolution 10 and stopped working since i migrated the website to the new software.

Yes I do. I put a text field in instead of the date field.

Do you have any blockers installed on your browser ? pop up blockers ? javascript blocker ? script blockers ? -> deactivate them.

I don't see a date field so I can't test the pop up of the calendar icon.

see that javascrip is enabled like Paul already stated, test here: http://enable-javascript.com/

install here: https://java.com/en/download/

You have syntax error (see attachement).

Your files /res/x5cartengine.js are broken.

Try install WebSite X5 again.

I re-uploaded the kinsalecharters.com website using websittex5 version 10 and the contact form is working again so obviously there is some issue with the program.

That's strange, but v12 uses newer software and scripts, maybe it works in v12 if you set the email script lower ? (step4 datamanagement left below) ?

...so obviously there is some issue with the program.

No, as Andre rightly points out there are several scripts to choose from, and it is up to the user to select the one which works correctly with his/her server/configuration.  The fact that the contact form worked in version 10 and does not work on default settings in version 12 is not indicative of any bug in the program.  It is important to point this out for the benefit of any others reading this thread.

Hi Paul.

There are alot of things not working besides the contact form

Galleries arent showing

Menu bar not working (Should stay on top of the page at all times)

Mobile menu (Hamburger menu?) dont work

Calender icon not working in the contact form.

I rebuilt the website in version 10 and all is working as it should .

I dont have time to be dealing with all the above issues and my customers are screamnig at me about getting their sites working.

I have requested a refund and i'm going back to using version 10.

Once again to add balance to the thread I must point out that there are thousands of users the world over who are using WebSite X5 version 12 without experiencing any of these issues.

Unfortunately it appears that there are problems with the configuration on your own machine/server.

I am sure these can be resolved, but if you prefer then Incomedia will honour their refund policy.

Best wishes...

I tried to install it on a newly installed windows device (pease see above) and also on a different hosting provider platform. Both with the same results.

The thing is i always liked the product and wish the new version worked for me. I not disputing that it works fine for other users but my experience over the last few days it just didnt work for me.

Thanks

Gary
