Dropdown list formatting error on lines with multiple items  en

Please see the attached image. Note that both dropdowns are misplaced. They do not immediately follow their field label and their length is inconsistent with the percentage value (in this case I chose 25%) of the space allocation on the line.

Hello Paul De Freitas,

the space between the label andf the field depends on the settings you have for the percentage of the width. If you use the default size then the behaviour is correct. You need to reduce the width to make it appear more near.

Many thanks!

Hi Claudio

I am not sure what you mean by "use the default size". There does not appear to be a default width for a field or its label in a form context. I have 4 elements on the line as follows:

  1. Label + dropdown 30%
  2. Label plus date field plus calendar icon 20%
  3. Label + text field 20%
  4. Label + dropdown 30%

If you look again at the image you will see that the dropdowns are very small, almost as though they have been squeezed by their label length. I have checked to make sure that there are no hidden spaces in the two labels.

I changed the first line to 25% / 25% / 25% / 25% however the same pinching of the dropdowns occur.

Please create a form with the same structure as the Event type lines - you only need a couple of lines. Here are the labels and dropdown contents to save you some typing:

  • Event type
  • Date
  • Time from/to
  • Resources

Here are a couple of entries from the Event type drop down:

  • Audition
  • Read through - stage
  • Read through - upper area

Here are a couple of entries from the Resources drop down:

  • Stage - non-tech
  • Stage with tech
  • Stage - construction

I would appreciate an image of what you get.

Many thanks

/Paul

Hello Paul,

Paul De Freitas
There does not appear to be a default width for a field or its label in a form context.

Please see the screenshot attached for an illustration of the setting Claudio refers to.

The relevant section of the help file explains all the Email Form settings and options:

"If you choose to have labels on the left of the fields, you can specify the Width (%) as a percentage of the row in which it appears, and the Alignment of the labels."

Kind regards,

Paul
