the title is pretty self explanatory, It would be ice to hve some kind of option to allow us to be able to put full width banners as a header, many of the bugs are gone so it may be nice from devs to add this simple, but useful option for us.

I believe you are on about something like this, https://www.x5tuts.com/test2/ it is already possible to do that using custom code,if it is just a static image that you want insert an image into your header background then add this in your header section
