Problem: loading e-shop (500+ products) takes too long to load/test

hi, i construct an e-shop with 500+ products . I need to add more! but when i test pages (to see what I've done ) to program is taking to long time to load ..... 20-25 min .... So it's A BIG PROPLEM ! ( I use 2 pcs... an i5 with 8ram and i7 with 12 ram.... same problem)

I'm not an expert but it sounds like you are using localhost for your server. Sometimes when using a localhost for testing, caching is turned off so you can see changes during development. With cache turned on, the first load take a hit, but there after it is not nearly as bad.

Hello Jim, as fancy and wonderful as X5 is, keep in mind it's only a 32 bit program (How Outdated!) And you know what that means. You may be over the ~4 meg limit and accessing the hard drive for memory. Which would be very, very slow. You may have to split your site up, go to a solid state drive, or wait for the 64 bit version if there ever is one.

One other thought Jim, if you have not done already. Adjusting the number of threats X5 uses, see page 20 in the user guide.

Open X5 (Welcome Page) and click on "Preferences" in the left column and a window will open. Just past half way down is "Max number of simultaneous processes:" Interesting the default is 10 and the guide says start with 5. You might start with 4 and increase until your speed levels out or slows down. Or just set it to how many cores/threads you have.
You may want to open your task manager also and see how many cores/threads are running. If it's only 4 then you may want to check your bios/cmos settings and see if multi-threading is available and toggle that on. Which would give you 8 total.
Understood you have ALL other apps and programs closed except X5. Also all your secuity stuff is up to date and you've ran a complete scan lately. (Just checking.)

hi Donald! thanks for your reply... but nothing improved! x5 pro is excellent for projects with 10-15 pages! but for e-shops with 500+ (and i want to add another 500 products) is hell ! FOR MY i7-12G RAM PC takes 5-7 min to save or 7-10 min to preview ?!
Jim, I have most of the other programs that are similar to X5 and have been actively researching them the past 3 years. Webdesign software is more of my hobby as opposed to webdesign, though I have a couple of sites to update and rework for responsive.
I can tell you for sure the answer to your problem is to break up your site into folders or into sub-domains. The other answer and most recommended is to use a CMS like Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal. Your site is just to big with too much content. Programs like X5 work from the client side, your computer, where programs like WP are server side and database driven to store your giant mass of images and pages. This is why large corporations/companies us a CMS with WP being the most popular.
It would not be hard to split your site into sub-domains. This would allow for faster loading, editing, previewing and uploading to your host. Check with your host about sub-domains, most have several available pending your hosting package. Do some research!
Here is one large site done with Evo 12. This too would most likely fail if had 2-4 breakpoints on each page. http://www.hampsteadheath.net/

Sorry, once again the 12G Ram means nothing with a 32 bit program, it will only use 4 max. There is a 64 bit program available but they have no shopping cart, forms or a site/page manager. They would also tell you to split up your site. You can take my word or go to other sites and forums and check it out. You won't be pulling any wool off of my sheep.
