Responsive settings - Show / Hide  en

Just updated to V13.

On the Responsive Setting page blocks can be set to Show or Hide for the selected resolution. However if select the highest resolution - 1200px and above (brown colour) and set the display of blocks then this is what is displayed in the next lower resolution ( green section) in the preview.  Unless I misunderstand this it appears that the setting screen does not match the preview screen. This then creates difficulty when needing to hide blocks that are designed for lower resolutions from being displayed at the 1200px and above.

Also have noticed that even though a block is hidden a space is left between other blocks that are displayed, making alignment not always possible.

Thanks

Jon

Jon,

if you wish to set an object only in lower viewport then set the object in the lower view port then it won't show up in desktop, this can be done only in the template (header / footer).

Objects on a page are always visible in the highest viewport, you can remove them for lower viewports if you wish.

The responsive design is there to set objects off for smaller displays to prevent loading and make more room foor the actual information. So it makes no sense in removing them from the highest viewport.

If you wish such a function I suggest to create an IDEA post.

In the guided text next to to settings with nr2 before it says this: Choose the objects to hide at lower resolutions.

So this is correct behavior. (else it makes no use in setting the object) So I agree it's a bit confusing but logicly in creating responsive pages.

Hope this helps,

Best Regards,

Andre

Andre,

What I was attempting to achieve was to show a wide object on the high resolution and the same information rearranged as a narrow object on the lower resolutions. As you have stated this is not the way responsive works in X5.

I will go about the design a bit defferently then.

Thanks for the explanation.

Jon
