I've used a Title object in the footer, and made it an Email (mailto:) link. I've added no subject to the mailto:. Yet when one clicks on the email link ?subject=&body= is inserted into the subject line of the email.

See the image atttached to this post and the first reply to see how it displays.

Ideas???

James,

It's just your browser giving information about the link. Your browser does that on all links.

If you don't fil iin anything it still shows the body or subject.

If you fill in subject = "mail", then that will show and if user presses the link a mail will be opend with filled in subject "mail". It's the same for a link object, it will show the page you are goning to or the file that is going te be opend.

I would recommend at least to fill in the subject so you know where the mail is comming from, like mail from websitename or even from a object or form, sometimes you have multiple website or forms so it helps you also to identify where the mail is send from (although a custumer has the ability to change it offcource) see it as a suggestion.

I agree that the Incomedia should check if the & sign can be deleted and maybe don't show subject or body if empty. But there is no harm here, the links works further correct, again it's just some information that the browser shows about the link you are hovering over.

Just to see if Incomedia could check and see if it's possible to remove the other characters and the body and subject if not used is possible, I have set this post for them to react.

Best Regards,

Andre

Thanks for the response Andre. I will take your advice about "...recommend at least to fill in the subject...", however since I have not filled that in, there should be nothing in the Subject line when the users email app opens, which is not the case now. See the attached image. Any idea what is causing this?

James,

I know that's why I set it for Incomedia to check.

This needs to be checked by the programmers.

Thanks,

Best Regards,

Andre

Hello James,

when you choose in the link options "e-mail" you notice the fields subject and body which can be prefilled so the messages sent with these links contains automatically a subject and a body content.

This has been always present in the program.

Many thanks!
