A little help please - I am trying to link an mp4 video to a page in Version 13 - but get a message "Install Media Player Plugin. This plug in is not supported." How do I proceed please?

The attachment below shows the 'Properties' of the video in question.

Hello Claudio

Have changed from .MP4 to .mp4. and that has partially solved the problem. The file now plays - but audio only.

Now I just need to figure out how to reinstall the flash player plugin. Will keep you posted.

Hello Claudio

Can you help further please re the above.

I have two videos - both of which play fine in Windows 10 using Windows Media Player.

I have put both of them into Evolution 13 as a test.

One plays perfectly - i.e. both audio and video.

The one where I have changed the file extension from .MP4 to .mp4 only plays as audio (i.e. the video does not appear)

I am stumped - can you suggest how I might fix this please?

Hello Malcolm,

Did you use following codec settings for the creation of the mp4 video file?

  • Video codec: MPEG-4 H-264 25, 29 or 30 fps
  • Audio codec: MEPG-4 AAC 441000Hz Stereo

If you used different settings then you need to create it again by using these exact settings so it will work correctly.

Many thanks!

Hello Claudio

Thanks for information but this is beyond my knowledge at present.

All I have done so far is to upload the video from a camera to Windows 10 and change the file extension to .mp4.

The video plays fine with Windows Media Player - but does not run in Evolution 13.

Do you have any guidance please on how to change codec settings please?

Hello Malcolm,

You need to use a video editor program or a program to convert the videos and then use the settings I wrote you for the video and audio and then save or convert it.

Many thanks!

Hello Malcolm,

There are also free video converter whih you can use. Most of them allows to choose whih codec settings needs to be used. There is not a recommended one since they are all similar.

Many thanks!
