Uploading webpages using cPanel server

I am trying to load webpages to a CPanel server using the usual FTP process.
At the end of the uploading it shows EXPORT COMPLETED but the updated webpages do not appear on the domain website.
Is CPanel any different to normal domains for loading webpages?

Alan. CPanel is usually simply the interface to manage your domain. Normal proceedure is to upload your site to the public_html folder at your domain.
Are you uploading to the correct directory?
