Dear Mr.Claudio D.

Hi,

I'm sorry to disturb you and ask too many questions. But unfortunately, I often encounter problems, to solve which is not so easy for me. But this time, I can hardly do without your help.

I'm trying to build a website, based on  your  tutorials (articles) for creating a sample-website http://tees.websitex5.com . Your last article "How to create a more sophisticated “Buy now” button with some customized code" explains how to give a buyer the opportunity to select the size of the T-shirt before clicking on the “Add to cart” button.

But as you know, there are lots of online stores which give the buyers an opportunity not only select the size of the product, but also to select the color of the product .Firstly, you select the color of the product  and after that the size of the product. Moreover, when you select the color of the product, "image zoom" displays the corresponding product image.

In view of the foregoing, can you explain how I can achieve all of this in my case?

Note: Please, open zip file attached to this letter and look at the "base T-shirt" product page image. As you can see the same t-shirt has many color and size options. That is why, Instead of several separate  product  page for each t-shirt  İ decided that it would be much  reasonable to use  "image zoom" widget to restrict quantity of product pages up to one

I will be grateful to you for your prompt reply.

Thank you in advance and best regards,

I.Hasanov

Dear Iftikhar,

thank you for your message. Are you referring to WebSite X5 Evolution 12 or to WebSite X5 Evolution Professional 13? I see you have a demo of this last version.

In the first case, it would be unfortunately impossible to give the customer the possibility of choosing both color and size, as WebSite X5 Evolution 12 does not allow to set sub-options.

Still, with WebSite X5 Professional 13 you could do something similar to what you have described: given a product, let's say a t-shirt, you can choose more options on Step 1>Advanced>Shopping Chart> Product setting window> Options section . You can choose as main options, for exaple, the colour you want your t-shirt to be avaiable in.  Here you can choose also different sub-options, for example the size. Remember to select all sub-options for each main option, i.e. each size for each color. In this way, when you customers will have the opportunity to choose both colour and size. Unfortunately, it is still not possible to show the different options with different photos, as shown in your attached screenshot.

I really hope this can be helpful and I am avaiable for further clarification. Kind regards.

Dear Elisa B.

Hi,

I do not own WebSite X5 Professional 13. I use WebSite X5 Evolution 12.

As you know, the article "How to create a more sophisticated “Buy now” button with some customized code" says about the javascript code which helps to choose a size of the product (t-shirt).

I have a pure knolege about the HTML and CCS. But I know nothing about Javascript.

Nevertheless I want to ask you one question:

Is it not possible to use the same javascript code mentioned above for selecting a color of the product too? After all, In both cases It is used the same principle.

I hope that you could write one more article about the issue and explain to all users of of WebSite X5 Evolution 12 how to solve the issue and close the problem forever, couldn't you?

I will be grateful to you for your prompt reply.

Best regards

I.Hasanov

Hello Iftikhar,

as what you have described goes unfortunately beyond the functionalities of the software, I kindly suggest you to set this topic as pubblic, so that other users will be able to see it and to provide you with the information you need.

I also suggest you to open an Idea-topic about this issue, so that the developers can evaluate your proposal for possible future updates.

Thank you in advance. Kind regards.

Dear Elisa B.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I don't mean necessarily the functionalities of the software and It does not matter how the problem can be solved. Rather, I am talking of the article written by your co-workers which does not solve the issue until the end. That is why, I think It should be continued and provide us with the remaining part of the customized code written manually which will enables us to solve the issue completely.

There are countless of products which have more than one options and it is not possible to organize the product page properly if there is no possibility of choice of required options. Unlikely my website will look professional, if I create 12 or more separate pages (If you can offer another solution for my problem I would be very grateful to you) for each color of the same product.

You suggest me to open an Idea-topic about this issue. But I need your help now, not in a several month or in a year.

Thank you in advance. Kind regards.

Hello Iftikhar,

unfortunately, as I have told you it is not possible with WebSite X5 Evolution 12 to set different sub-options for a product. What  you can do by now is to have the different options shown as separate products. Or you could Upgrade to WebSite X5 Professional 13, which gives the possibility to set different options and sub-option, so to achieve the result which I have described above.

I hope this can be helpful. Kind regards.
