When I create the table and fill it in. It is not responsive and sliders start to appear. I am trying to rebuild and revamp a website. The task I am trying to do is on this web page http://www.altvideo.co.uk/comp.html is there any other way of doing this?

Regards.

Hello Terry,

The table has strict boundries, there are advantages and disantvatages for that.

An advantage is that the places you create will always be the same size, handy for starting the information always on the same spots. But this brings also the trouble that in responsive you get a slider.

I just finished working on a website and hade the same trouble. But I found a workaround.

Set the object on a test page and make that test page under contruction, this way you can edit it easily if you need to change something.

preview the page and make a prtscrn, then adjust it in a picture edit program (I use Irfanview) then set it as picture on your page. This has also the advantage (in my case) that the information can not be copied only the total picture, but not the seperate text. Also if you set people's name or personal info google won't find it, not everybody likes being found on internet..... . I also use this for webpages where there is somekind of competition results so I have no complains about people that google has found a person through my site. If you wissh to do this you can always set information in the title or on the page with keywords.

Anyway I hope it helps....

The problem is. each month I will need to edit the relative rows and columns. I think the team needs to think of a way to make tables responsive. Thanks anyway.

It would not be very difficult to lay out cells on a web page exactly as you have for the table. You would then have absolute control over how the cells rearrange at various resolutions. I did a website for a friend when V13 was fisrt released and had the same issue, this site was originally 2 tables. I ultimately created a cell layout to replicate the tables and as you will see they rearrange nicely at various resolutions. This site bears no relationship to your site's requirements, but you should get the idea.

Good posts with all good solutions.

Esahc, there are plenty nice features for tables on internet, just search for them for responsive table or where I have been experiancing with,  is a table with fixed header. I havent succeed for 100% to get it like Incomedia does here: http://www.websitex5.com/en/pricing.php And short on time at the moment, LOL, what's new in this live?

But thats looks also very nice. It would be nice to have thiese items in x5. Maybe create a common IDEA post for extending the table options.
