I have added descriptions to the photos in a gallery and I want them to appear as captions below the photos. They do appear but only after the viewer moves the cursor outside the frame. I want them to appear at the same time the photo comes up. I have removed the thumbnails but they still don't appear. Thanks in advance - Wes

Wes, sadly this is a feature or limitation of the current galleries and slide shows.
Can you provide a link to your website?
The galleries may not meet your immediate needs, but there are a number of ways to deal with images. I had such a problem and dealt with it this way:-
http://gippslandsinkers.com.au/ (click on sinkers)
If there are not too many images involved, I have also resorted to adding text directly to each image, and then inserting them into a slide show.
You can also add a message box with even more information about each image if you wish (choose image, select link, select message box, add text)
If we know what you are trying to achieve we may be able to offer a better solution.

Many thanks. I have looked at your "sinkers" site and can see a different approach but need to investigate further. In the meantime, although much of our website is restricted, I have temporarily unlocked a gallery page (http://www.probusclubwahroongaeast.org.au/touring-brisbane-and-the-sunshine-coast.php) as a sample of what we are doing. Any ideas appreciated. As a club with an average age about 75 we may be asking too much to try to self-manage our own site!

Wes, first off, I cannot see that managing your website should be age restricted, after all, you've come this far, just keep going!
I tried to access your gallery, but it still requires username and password.
My website is www.esahc.com, feel free to contact me or send the username and password by either email or contact form - I promise not to tell anyone :-)
Wes, many thanks for giving me access to your gallery.
Most of your problem is that to move between pictures the user has to click the next/previous buttons, and in doing so they probably don't move the mouse far enough away to see the caption appear.
My recommendation is to automate the slide show, if the user wishes to go back or hurry forward they still can, but by default the pictures will change and the captions will be visible (unless the user hovers the mouse over the picture). In the Gallery Object, put a tick in auto play and in Button View select Visible on Mouse Over. The default is 5 seconds between pictures. Under the list tab you can select one or many pictures (to select all, click on first pic, scoll to last pic, hold the shift key down and click on last pic), change effect and duration.
