If a picture is taller then it is wide then x5 rotates them so they display sideways. Is there a way to force so the pictures is not rotated. I have had to put the picture on a blank page to make it wider so it would not be rotated.

Hello Ralph.

I have not had this issue, but I have many images that needed to be rotated. To do this I use Irfanview (free), simply open the image, rotate, save and then use in WX5.

However, if you are using the image object or the gallery object you can click on the edit button and set the rotation so the image displays the correct way up on your page.

Sorry I did not explain it well say a picture is 800h by 400w then the picture is rotated sideways so it is displayed 400h by 800w but now the picture is sideways. Here is a good way yo try it. Take a picture with your cell phone with the long side facing up and down. Then put the picture on and you will see it gets rotated when displayed on the webpage. So if you post this picture the chair will be on its side and not upright. The only way to get it to display right is to make it wider by adding boarder to the left and right side so the width is more that the hight.

Ralph, as I said above, if you are placing the picture into either the image object or a gallery, then each picture can be individually rotated by clicking on edit. If you are adding an image to a text cell, it may be necessary to rotate the image first. I have many images on my websites where I found it simply easier to rotate the image/s before including on the page. To the best of my knowledge the details which decide how a picture is displayed are embedded in the picture header. It is possible that by widening the picture in an editor you are re-writing the meta-data.

How are you adding images to your web page?

I think I understand I will give it a try. I thought you ment edit the picture and I was doing that in Photoshop, what you mean is use the edit feature in x5. Will be a bit of a pain if adding alot of pictures but if ot works I will just have to do it that way. Thanks

Hopefully using the edit feature to rotate an image (a couple of mouse clicks) will be far less painful than modifying the canvas size in a standalone editor.
