With the Professional edition of WebSite X5, if you intend to enable automatic user registration, so that visitors can register themselves and immediately obtain a login and password for accessing locked pages, you first need to set up a database in which the registration data will be saved:

In Step 1 - Advanced Settings, click on Data Management.

Click on the Add... button to open the Database Settings window and enter the necessary information for setting up the  database you intend using for access management.

When the database is set up, you can enable automatic user registration:

In the Access Managementwindow, go to the Settings section.

Select Automatic Registrationas the Registration Mode.

In the Settings section, select the Database to be used and enter the name of the Table Name where the data will be saved. You also have to specify an active e-mail address in the Admin e-mail address option: requests from users who have forgotten their password and/or new registration alerts will be sent to this address.

If you want, you can also enable the appropriate options so that the administrator receives a message each time a new user registers (Send an e-mail to notify new users subscription), the "Captcha" anti-spam filter is added to the bottom of the registration form (Enable 'Captcha' anti-spam filter) and an e-mail address validation request is generated (Enable E-mail Address Validation).

Hello Paolo,

the only thing which changes is the automatic registration, which is not present in the Evolution version. Here you can find the link to the online guide explaining this section: http://help.websitex5.com/en/v13/pro/index.html?es_area.htm

Please let me know if I can be of any help. Kind regards.

Hi Elisa thanks for the reply, so the automatic user registration is only for the Professional edition of WebSite X5.  I'm using evolution 13 so that means i cannot use this feature?

Hello Paolo,

yes, unfortunately this feature is not present in WebSite X5 Evolution 13. If you wish to upgrade to WebSite X5 Professional 13 you can do that at any time enjoying a 35% discount which you can find in the "Offers" section of your account.

I wish you a lovely day. Kind regards.
