I would like for my customers to download a Excell document that is saved on my computer and save it onto there computer to email to me once completed.

You can use the download buuton object for that.
If you don't want to buy it, then you need to make the excel file an (selfextracting) zip or any other compressed file. Then set is as a link and customers will then get it in there download folder.

No, not at all .
connection to a databse is done a bit like an internet connection with password an login, usualy from a website host personal login portal.
But why would you want to connect to a database, what do you want to achieve?
