Lost my project files, all of a sudden

I was working on my project and everything was finished and ready to launch.
Then the WS5 stopped and I had to restart it - and then: Guess what. All my project files was gone. I know that they where saved because I have been working on them for a long time and the files are online. It was when I should edit the content, everything stopped - and now.. they are gone.
I have actually lost two project and X hours of har work creating the websites.
How can they just disappear?

I gues you still have the project in the project selection? Try to select it and use the backup button in project selection to see if you can go back to a better version.
It's always a good idea to make one manually (pulldown next to save button) or to make a project export specially after a lot of smaller changes or bigger changes.
Hope you will find a good later copy from the automatic backup of x5.

But you see, the problem is - there is nothing there... it is completely empty. It is no project files there at all. I had at least 4 websites I am managing thorugh wsx5 ver. 11 - but now they are all gone.
Thanks for reminding me about taking backup... :-) I am also reminding my self at this point.
Actually I find this so frustrating, that I am concidering to use wix in stead, even if it is a more expensive solution - it seems to be more stabile and it is an online solution.

If there is nothing in your project selection then the preference folder might be wrong. or your folder on your pc got another designation.
Check your pc (search all drives) for an iwprj file, if found set the preference folder to the folder above that file and you will have your projects back.
You can set the preference folder on start up of x5 in the preference section
