When I try to Export to Internet it fails with the message, "Unable to connect to server ....". I have been doing this successfuly for the past year and it has affected both of my PCs so it's unlikely I have changed any parameters on both machines. I have contected our website provider and they have confirmed my setup is correct. I am using Evolution 13 and it is up-to-date as of today.

Wes, if you have either a standalone firewall, or use antivirus which includes a firewall, can you temporarily disable it and test again?
If this is not successful, can you try Filezilla (or similar) to see if that connects?

I have tried after turning off my Norton but made no difference. If I use Filezilla do I have to reload everything, as opposed to just the changes, everytime I make a change?
Wes
Wes, with filezilla you can select to upload new or changed files only. You just have to create a directory on your PC (I create a folder called web inside the project directory). In step 5 Export, Export website to disk, then upload all the files in that directory to your hosting directory.

This has gone from bad to worse. Now I try to update X5 software to latest version and I just get, "It was not possible to connect to the internet or the Incomedia server......". Do I need to re-install X5? If so, how?
Thanks - Wes
Wes, the message you are getting sounds like a temporary problem with the Incomedia servers. Just try again later, but if it keeps happening it sounds like there are connectivity issues with your internet connection.
Did you have any success accessing your site with filezilla, or have you resolved the ftp errors??

It's not intermittent - has been going on for days. And it's working okay on my other PC.
As for Filezilla, I have downloaded the software and got as far as the attached file shows but haven't got any further for fear of making it worse. What files (of the 26 folders and 2000+ files) need to be included?

Hold on - think I've solved it. Installed an update to my Norton software and suddenly all seems to work.
Wes
Wes, the answer to the second last post is all of them, but they need to go in the public_html directory (not the root) and you select new and updated files (not all), this session only once you right click on your files and select upload.
My comment as to the last post is "why am I not surprised?"
