SRGB Color Space Problem in Website X5 Professional and Most Browsers  en

I have encountered a sRGB color space problem when using Website X5 Professional.

Since it would be very difficult to describe this problem, I have created a short YouTube video (see link below) to demonstrate what I'm seeing. Please take a look...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lj355Eu1HY0&feature=youtu.be

After watching this video you may be thinking that I am far too fussy about color in my work. Or perhaps you cannot even detect the subtle color shifts that are described in the video. However, these are real color shifts and I have seen them in all my X5 websites.

I'm pleased that there are two main browsers that work properly, namely EDGE on Windows 10 and Safari on the Apple platform.

It would be very helpful if Incomedia could solve the color-shift problem within X5 itself. That way, we would be assured that the colours we are seeing in the X5 preview are displaying correctly. As of now, this is NOT the case.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the technical people at Incomedia can do to correct this problem.

When you preview your site, on the top RH side of the preview browser you have the option to select any browser you like.

Since you say the pages look fine in Edge and Safari, it sounds to me that the problem is with the various browsers, not the code in WX5.

Perhaps an idea post to request the user choose the default preview browser.

This is not just a browser problem, it's an Incomedia problem because the preview within X5 itself is also wrong. My hope is that Incomedia can get the color space right internally, so that we can be assured that what we see within X5 is the CORRECT output.

it's an extra step to select a specific browser. The first preview is an internal X5 preview, and this should be 100% valid.

Do you agree?

I believe the preview browser is from the same or similar source as chrome.

Unless you have found that both firefox and chrome correctly display your images, I would be taking your fight to the leading webbrowser makers.
