I work with Webfont Essentials 2.0. Compatible with Website X5. So nothing wrong since 2015. Recently I bought the NEW Webfont Essentials 2017 and they seem not compatible with Website X5. I can import them by ‘preverences’, not problem but the type does not show as text f.i. Abilene, Arezzo, etc but with a strange symbol. Plus, more important, using them in my website is not possible. Is there a solution?

Does it happens with all the webfont files or only some?
It could be the file used is not correct and it's why it is not recognised by the program.

It seems to happen with all the webfonts in the NEW Webfont Essentials 2017. However, you van imagine, I did not try them all. Choose random to check.
The OLD Webfont Essentials 2.0 is working perfectly. "Why then a problem?"
Good question. Because there were added new fonts that I like.....
The file is not correct could be, but seems to me not likely with such a new program.

The old Webfont Essential was made compatible with WebSite X5 by http://www.softmaker.net and in this case you need to contact the support of Webfont Essential since only they are able to help you further with the issue.

Why made the old Webfont Essentials compatible with WebSite X5 and not the new one? In my (humble) opinion it's just a matter of usual maintenance and respect for your loyal customers that the team of WebSite X5 is organizing this.
I am not the only user of the new Webfont Essentials 2017? Maybe the only with the problem of compatibility?

The old one was a collaboration between us and Softmaker while this one is a different product made only by them.
Unfortunately we didn't collaborate with Softmaker on this product and you need to get in contact with them since only they can help you about this issue.

Hello All,
Softmaker has given me a refund for the WebFonts Essential 2017 because of the non compatibility with WebSite X5.
I e-mailed them that I was disappointed and that I had plausible reasons to assume that there was a compatibility with Website X5. Which is not the case.
Case closed as far as I am concerned.
