Importing products into a shopping cart  en

I have tried to import an Excel.csv file and also a.txt file into the shopping cart.  After the initial warning that some products may be updated I then get a message saying there is an invalid field count in line 1.  I have counted fields, counted the semicolon separators and can't find anything wrong, and checked the fiueld names against the list on the Help website.

Hello Michael

You maybe already have - but if not - try to make an export from from your products, and then compare this file with the file you try to import.

If you have no products yet, then create a few - you can later delete these.

I think this will be the easiest way to locate where the error could come from.

Kind regards

I would guess that the field name Name/Code could cause some trouble.

Your problems is caused by the fact, that this file is rekognized as a sylk-file.

You should import the file to a program as Excel - from here you can save again as a csv ot txt file.

You have some special characters in the price field.

Kind regards

Hello Michael S.,

The first line has not all the necessary fields where you should have:
id;category;name/code;description;price;enable vat;vat value;weight;options;enable discounts;discounts;availability type;available;pending

and then for the products you left blank some fields which do require content. As Example:
1;Automation;A18230;Amico 230v self-locking rmotor;œ249.25;;;;;
should be:
1;Automation;A18230;Amico 230v self-locking rmotor;249.25;0;19;0,0;;0;;Unset;;

without the value symbol.
Once you corrected the file this one can be imported.

To have a correct starting file create on a project a product and then export it as CSV file and then work on this file in Excel to create your CSV file so all fields will be correctly organised.

On following link you will find all the informations about the fields used in the CSV file and what type of content these can have:

Many thanks!
