Fail to import website X5 V8 website  en

I fail to import my website X5 V8 website, I keep getting the error incorrect file type. The file is an IWP, website created with elegance template which is also on the V9 version. This renders importing useless completely or am I doing something wrong as I have followed all the upgrade tips which starts with importing. I do not want to redo two years of work. Is it a bug or have I missed something?

I have managed to find why the file typeis incorrect. Those who are doing shopping carts may well take note. I had to delete all the cart details, it seems that it is not compatible. Once deleted I managed to export V8 website file to V9. Now I have to do some major work as we had thousands of items for our shopping cart. So if you get invalid file type when exporting V8 website to V9 remove all cart entries and reconstruct once it is exported
