When I look at my website on a mobile phone (www.dialacontractor.co.za) the menu pops up to the right but it is off the screen. You can get to it if you swipe but how many people will know to swipe, any suggestions to overcome this?

Try to adjust the menu size in the template

you need reduce the width of the drop down menu in the step 2, drop down menu. see my screenshot.
